The FIRST Jazz Night concert in Fresco Music Recital Hall, presented by Jens Bunge from Germany and Tay Cher Siang from Malaysia. Jens Bunge is a well-known chromatic harmonica player in jazz; while Tay Cher Siang is a talented jazz pianist in local.

This concert is arranged to start at 7:30pm sharp. Different from usual concert, the concept of the Jazz Night is to give a comfortable and relax environment for the audiences. So we had set up the hall like a pub, providing soft drinks and snacks while the audiences are enjoying the jazz music under the dim blue lights.

At the age of 18, Jens Bunge began to teach himself to play the chromatic harmonica. Influenced by the recordings of Toots Thielemans, he soon found his passion for jazz. The following years saw him as a guest soloist with the Thilo Berg Big Band featuring Ack van Rooyen and Barbara Dennerlein.

Tay Cher Siang, trained in classical music as a child, and begin to explore about jazz music in his teenage years.. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music from West Virginia University, and continued to pursue his Masters Degree in Jazz Pedagogy. He studied from Dr.Miltenberger and Professor Scea.

Everybody was so impressed with the performance by two legends!

We had an autograph and photograph sections after the concert between audiences and musicians.
